Lilliano Heinen - 6370 143rd Lane - Inquired as to how many days per week the tire <br />shredder will be in operation and whether the official hours of operation will be respected. <br />Mr. Miller replied that the hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday <br />through Friday and 8:00 a.m. to noon on Saturdays. Hours of operation may be extended <br />in the spring but they will remain within the guidelines. <br /> <br />Kay McCulley - Inquired if Ramsey's roads will be able to handle the increase in heavy <br />track traffic. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller replied that from a weight standpoint, the tracks hauling tires are restricted to the <br />same weight limits and axle weights as garbage trucks. <br /> <br />Delores Fix - 6055 157th Lane N.W. - Stated that she is concerned with mosquito control <br />as she thinks she had and 'knows her brother did have encephalitis. Inquired as to why the <br />shredding operation cannot be housed from the beginning. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller replied that the cost to house the operation in it's beg4nning stages will place <br />WMMI right out of the market place. The operation will be restricted to 3 years in an open <br />area. <br /> <br />Gladys Haugtvedt - Stated that the placement of residue into the air by the shredding <br />operation is an important factor and the residents want an answer. There is already a <br />problem in the area with dust from the land. fill operation. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller replied that he will research and provide answers to any questions he could not <br />answer this evening. <br /> <br />Sharon Dahlgren - Inquired if there are plans to store the shredded material on site in <br />addition to the 50,000-70,000 tires. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller replied that WMMI would be allowed to store up to 70,00'3 tires and 60 tons of <br />tire chips at the facility. The tire chips being stored in an open area and subject to rainfall <br />should not be a problem as tire chips are not likely to provide a pocket for water collection <br />and mosquito breeding. <br /> <br />Kay McCulley - Noted that spraying for mosquitos places another pesticide in the air. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller replied that the mosquito spray used is the same that is currently used by MgvlCD <br />to spray area wetlands. <br /> <br />Todd Hunt - 6337 143rd Lane N.W. - Noted that the proposed location for the tire <br />shredding operation appears to be the site on which the ski hill is supposed to be <br />developed. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller stated that the shredding operation w411 be at the ski hill'site but will not remain <br />there after the sld hill is in operation. The proposed ski hill site prosddes the best l(>c. afion <br />for the shredding o~ration because of the screening in that vicinity.
