Mr. Merland Otto noted that the recommendations of the Ramsey Fire Chief have been <br />incorporated into the proposed conditional use permit. <br /> <br />Kay McCulley - Inquired as to what Ramsey will gain from an economic standpoint from <br />the tire shredding operation. <br /> <br />Mr. Goodrich replied that whether or not the City will be able to increase it's tax base <br />because of the tire shredding operation has not been addressed. <br /> <br />Mr. Itartley stated that there are no structures being established in conjunction with the tire <br />shredding operation; consequently, them are no structures to assess and tax; if and when a <br />building is constructed, the operation can be taxed. <br /> <br />Kay McCulley - Noted that in the interim, VvSMMI must be making a profit. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller noted that to be in the business, '¢,rMI~Q has to make a profit. I: costs WMMI <br />money to shred the tires and transport it to the user in Wisconsin <br /> <br />Wayne Swenson - Stated he is concerned with WMMI storing tire chips on the ground and <br />suggested the), be loaded directly from the shredder into roll-off containers and covered. <br /> <br />1~. Miller noted that WMMI realizes that whenever possible, it is to their benefit to load the <br />tire chips directly into a truck. WMMI will take Mr. Swenson's suggestion under <br />consideration. <br /> <br />Sharon D~lgren - Inquired if in addition to sand, WMMI plans to have water available on <br />the site in the event of fire. <br /> <br />Mr. Miller stated that part of the license conditions includes a 3250 gallon tank truck being <br />on the site for water storage. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner LaDue and seconded by Commissioner Ten'5' to adjourn the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Shumway, Terry, <br />Hendr/ksen and 1.2.Due. Voting No: None.
