his. Watson stated thal Mr. Karst is committed to o?erating his business in the most
environmentally safe way possible. The type of service Mr. Karst provides is a step aN'we
and the answer to junk >'m'ds. "l'he feedstock brought to the faciliB, will only be on site 3-4
days and then stripped off site. It is estimated that lhere will be 6 trucks per day visitint the
site. The furnace operations wil! not create noise; there is some noise created by the crane
operations but it is not a consistent noise. There are no odors associated with the operation
of tile furnace. The feedstock brought to ~}~e site by t'-ucks is too heavy to fall off and litler
roadways. Repons indicate that there are no visible emissions from tile furnace as it is
currently operated and even less emissions wilt be realized with the addition of a bagger
}louse. The furnace is no: of a size lhat would require EPA and MPCA permi~',ing. Mr.
K~st is willing to annually test tile emissions from the furnace operation. Oil drippings is
a concern at the Hassan facility as that is where the pans are disassembled; by the time the
parts arrive at the Ramsey facility there will only tw~ a oil residue on the surfaae of the parts.
There are no plans to process wire at the facility.

Ms. Watson stated that Mr. Karst has been located at the Hassan facility for one )'car and
has made significant improvements to the property.
