Others working <br />with me on this committee are the Honorable Don Masterson, Mayor <br />of Spring Lake Park, the Honorable Marilyn Schultz, Mayor of Ham <br />Lake and the Honorable Bob Lewis, Mayor of Coon Rapids. <br /> <br />We would appreciate the opportunity for RISE Board and <br />governmental committee member, Don Masterson, to <br />present the investment opportunities for A Partner- <br />ship That Works to your city Com~issioners on January <br />19, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. I hope the following info~mation <br />will provide the initial background information you <br />need to consider the possibilities of a re.quest to your <br />city for funding. We will be glad to complete any <br />forms you may re.~uire in your review process. <br /> <br />RISE, Incorporated was started in 1971 by a group of concerned <br />citizens in Anoka County to meet the vocational needs of Anoka <br />County residents whose long-term mental and physical disabilities <br />present barriers to securing competitive work. <br /> <br />In 1987, RISE served 1,273 individuals through training, <br />employment and counseling services. RISE is currently serving <br />ten residents of the City of Ramsey. RISE is experiencing an <br />increasing demand to provide services, and projects that in 1988 <br />the total number of people served will increase to 1,492 and by <br />1993 expects to be serving 1,850 individuals. Currently, RiSE <br />has over 130 individuals on a waiting list for whom there is not <br />space available. To meet this need and the projected growing <br /> <br /> <br />
