By: <br /> <br /> RECONSIDER PURCHASE OF CAB AND <br /> BROOM FOR JOHN DEERE MOWER <br />Mede Mevissen, Public Works Superintendent <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the recent Budget Committee meetin,g ii was suggested that the City purchase a trailer heavy <br />enough to haul our John Deere tractor and not purchase the cab and broom for the John Deere <br />mower. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />I talked this over with my department and they didn't feel that this was a good idea mainly <br />because we don't have inside storage where the trailer can be kept with the truck and tractor <br />loaded on it. It would be very time-consuming to hook the trailer to the truck, load the tractor, <br />and chain it to the trailer every morning, not to mention how dangerous it would be towing the <br />trailer on icy roads. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />I recommend purchasing the cab and broom for the John Deere mower.
