Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #89-02- <br /> <br />Resolution authorizing redistricting of precincts and establishment of polling places. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on November 16, 1988, Council received complaints of long voting lines at ~'~recincts 1 and 3 and <br />directed the Community Development Director to research population numbers in all the precincts to determine <br />whether the boundaries need adjusting or polling places need to be expanded; and <br /> <br />~q~REAS, on January.' 2~', 1989, the City Council camed a motion to initiate proceedings to divide Precinct 3 into <br />3A and 3B, using the exisung Elk River Sct~ool District/Anoint Hennepin School District boundary and divide <br />Precinct 1 into Precincts iA and lB using Sunfish Lake Bouievard Nor&west as a dividing line. Fu,~he~, uhat <br />Precinct 3A would use the new Central Park Park Center as a polling place and Precinct 3B would use the St. <br />Anthony Gun Club; Precinct lA would use the Senior Ci'dzen Are~ in the lower level of '.,he Ram. sey Municipa! <br />Center as a polling place and Precinct lB would use. the Rarnsey ElementaD' School and Precinct 2 would remain <br />unchanged. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ramsey, Ano'ka County', State of <br />Minnesota, as follows: <br /> <br />That Precinct 3 be divided into Precincts 3A and 3B using the existing Elk River School District/Ano -ka-Hennepin <br />School District boundary. Precinct 3A would use the new Central Park Park Center and Precinct 3B would use the <br />St. Anthony Gun Club as polling places. <br /> <br />Precinct 2 would remain unchanged, both the boun ~daries and polling place. <br /> <br />Precinct 1 would be changed to Precincts lA and lB. The dividing line would be Sunfish Lake Boulevard Northwest <br />(Count}' Road No. 5'7).
