Motion by Commissioner Holm to amend Item dll of the proposed findings of <br />fact to indicate that the proposed use will not be unduly dangerous. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hendriksen stated that there is potential for additional <br />findings being added that would be used as a base for determining the <br />outcome of Items 11-15. <br /> <br />Commissioner Holm withdrew his motion. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hendriksen and seconded by Commissioner Howell to <br />amend Item ~7 to include information indicating that the 75 foot setback <br />requirement for buildings housing anima~ls came into effect with the 1986 <br />recodification; the barn on t.he subject property was in existence prior to <br />that time. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Howell, Shumway, Holm and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the number of horses that previous owners of <br />the subject property have maintained on the property. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Holm and seconded by Commissioner Howell to add Item <br />f-17 to the proposed findings of fact indicating that Ms. Kathy Hellerstedt <br />of 17511 Driscoll Street N.W. has indicated that in the 14 years she has <br />lived in the area, there have always been a maximum of two horses <br />maintained on the subject property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Howell, Holm, Shumway and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Hendriksen to <br />add Item ~18 to the proposed findings of fact indicating that the Applicant <br />has stated that at the time her purchase of the home closed, the number of <br />horses on the property increased to 6 and is currently at 5. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Ms. Williams stated that she does not intend to keep <br />more than 5 horses on the property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Zimmerman, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />LaDue, Howell, Holm, Shumway and Terry. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to amend <br />Item ~:1 of the proposed findings of fact to indicate that the request is to <br />maintain a maximum of 5 horses on the property. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Reimann, Commissioners Howell, Holm, <br />LaDue, Hendriksen, Terry and Shumway. Voting No: l~one. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding other horse ho'Dby farms in the vicinity. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Howell and seconded by Commissioner Shumway to amend <br />Item ~10 of the proposed findings of fact to indicate that the Applicant <br />has stated that there are approximately 8 other horse hobby farms in the <br />neighborhood. <br /> Planning & Zoning/December 6, 1988 <br /> <br />Page 4 of 8 <br /> <br /> <br />
