CASE ~ 7 REQUEST FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO OPERATE AN ALUMINUM RECOVERY AND PROCESSING BUSINESS CASE OF DANNY'S ALUMINUM PROCESSING, INC. By: Merland Otto Background: Mr. Dan Karst, Jr., owner of Danny's Aluminum Processing, Inc., is requesting a conditional use permit to operate an aluminum recovery and processing business at the current Oftedahl property on Basalt Street (formerly GO Racing facility). The subject property consists of 1.6 acres in the I-1 Industrial area with an existing concrete building. The Applicant intends on purchasing and improving the project if a CUP is approved. The process includes melting down aluminum, casting, cooling and shipping. Residue from the melt furnace is separated and shipped off site for further processing.
