shall be parallel to the outside wall of the building and project <br />only fifteen (15) feet about the roofline of the structure. This <br />additional height, however, shall not be considered as part of <br />the wall area and shall not warrant additional sign area. The <br />supporting members of a roof sign shall appear to be free of any <br />extra bracing, angle iron, guy wires, cables, etc. The supports <br />shall appear to be an architectural and integral part of the <br />building. Supporting columns of round, square or shaped steel <br />members may be erected if required bracing, visible to the <br />public, is minimized or covered. <br /> <br />TEMPORARY SIGNS <br /> <br />The following are the only type of temporary signs permitted <br />unless other types are specifically allowed in the individual <br />zoning districts. <br /> <br />1. Banners, pennants and whirling devices, or any such sign <br />resembling the same, are prohibited from use within the city <br />except when used as an integral part of the design of a building <br />or when used in conjunction with grand openings (the initial <br />commencement of business) or when allowed by the provisions of <br />this ordinance. In the case of grand openings, banners and <br />pennants shall be allowed for the week (maximum ten (i0) days) of <br />said grand opening. In other cases, a special permit shall be <br />issued for ten (10) day periods, but limited to three (3) times a <br />year per businesses. <br /> <br />2. Campaign signs posted by a bona fide candidate for political <br />office, or by'a person or group promoting a political issue or a <br />political candidate may be placed in any district, subject to the <br />requirement that the maximum size in any district be thirty-two <br />(32) square feet. Such signs shall be removed in seven (7) days <br />following the election. A deposit of Fifteen Dollars ($15.00) <br />shall be received by the City of Ramsey before any signs may be <br />posted. If all the signs are removed, the Fifteen Dollars <br />($15.00) will be refunded, but if removal'is not complete, the <br />deposit will be used to defray the cost of removal. <br /> <br />3. One (1) temporary identification sign may be installed upon a <br />construction site in any district, provided such sign does not <br />exceed eighty (80) square feet in area. <br /> <br />4. Temporary real estate signs may be erected for the purpose of <br />selling or promoting a residential project of ten (10) or more <br />dwelling units or any non-residential project provided: <br /> <br /> a. Such signs shall not exceed one hundred (100) square <br />feet in area; <br /> <br /> b. Only one (1) such sign shall be permitted per street <br />frontage upon which the property abuts; <br /> <br />c. Such signs shall, be removed when the project is ninety- <br /> <br /> <br />
