CASE <br /> <br />FRONT STREET AND SUNFISH LAKE BLVD. STREET LIGHTING <br />RIVERVIEW ESTATES <br /> By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In accordance to Item 2.C on page 6 of a Real Property Easement <br />Acquisition Agreement between Ralph R. and Doris A. Elofson and the <br />city of Ramsey, the City is to install and maintain four street <br />lights. <br /> <br />I have contacted Anoka Electric Cooperative (A.E.C.) and they <br />install street lights for $245 each plus $4 per foot for <br />underground tunneling. The monthly maintenance and power charge <br />is $11.67 for 150 watt fixture. The current power cost only is <br />$4.76/month. A.E.C. has indicated that if the City should decide <br />to provide their own maintenance in the future, they could buy the <br />light and light standard for approximately $350. <br /> <br />Enclosed is a copy of page 6 of the Property Easement Acquisition <br />Agreement and copies of the type of light fixtures that A.E.C. <br />provides. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />I would recommend that the City Council direct staff to authorize <br />A.E.C. to install four lights along Front Street and Sunfish Lake <br />blvd. in the Riverview Estates plat. I would also recommend that <br />the lights be post mounted 150W HPS traditional luminaire photo <br />control with 23 foot black fiberglass poles (A.E.C. Codes 4062 and <br />5547). <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to direct City Staff to authorize A.E.C. to install four <br />street lights in Riverview Estates.
