shall be established as shown on the City's Trails map. <br /> <br />Ail trailways shall be as designated by the City of <br />Ramsey Sidewalk and Trail map. <br /> <br />County Road 83 from the Southeast corner of Section 20 <br />near 149th Lane N.W. north to 161st Avenue. <br /> <br />SIDEWALK AND TRAIL MAP <br /> <br />The general location and size of sidewalk and trailways <br />established by this Ordinance are hereby set forth on the <br />Sidewalk and Trail Map and said Map is hereby made a part of <br />this Ordinance. It shall be the responsibility of the <br />Community Development Director, or his agent, to maintain said <br />Map, and amendments thereto shall be recorded on said Sidewalk <br />and Trail Map within thirty (30) days after official <br />publication of amendments. <br /> <br />DESIGN STANDARDS <br /> <br />A. Minimum requirements for both sidewalks and trailways. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Pedestrian ramps shall be required at all street <br />intersections and shall be constructed of concrete <br />subject to the approval of the City Engineer. At a <br />minimum, the ramps shall be in accordance with <br />Mn/DOT Standard Plate No. 7036C, or subsequent <br />revisions thereto. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />Long steep grades shall be avoided; slopes should <br />average 5%, 15% maximum slope where unavoidable due <br />to terrain. Equestrian trails shall have maximum <br />slopes of 20%. <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Flatter grades of slope shall be used at <br />intersections with streets or other trailway; 2.0% <br />maximum slope. <br /> <br />4) <br /> <br />Subgrade shall be shaped and compacted to 100% <br />standard density. All topsoil, black dirt, peat, <br />muck or silt soils shall be excavated and removed <br />from beneath sidewalk and backfilled with select <br />grading material unless an alternative design is <br />approved by the City Engineer prior to commencing <br />construction. <br /> <br />5) <br /> <br />Surface water drainage shall be provided away from <br />sidewalks with shallow drainage swales or ditches, <br />culverts, and/or strom sewer as required. Subgrade <br />of sidewalk to be a minimum of two (2) feet above <br />water table. <br /> <br /> <br />
