shall be established as shown on the City's Trails map. Ail trailways shall be as designated by the City of Ramsey Sidewalk and Trail map. County Road 83 from the Southeast corner of Section 20 near 149th Lane N.W. north to 161st Avenue. SIDEWALK AND TRAIL MAP The general location and size of sidewalk and trailways established by this Ordinance are hereby set forth on the Sidewalk and Trail Map and said Map is hereby made a part of this Ordinance. It shall be the responsibility of the Community Development Director, or his agent, to maintain said Map, and amendments thereto shall be recorded on said Sidewalk and Trail Map within thirty (30) days after official publication of amendments. DESIGN STANDARDS A. Minimum requirements for both sidewalks and trailways. 1) Pedestrian ramps shall be required at all street intersections and shall be constructed of concrete subject to the approval of the City Engineer. At a minimum, the ramps shall be in accordance with Mn/DOT Standard Plate No. 7036C, or subsequent revisions thereto. 2) Long steep grades shall be avoided; slopes should average 5%, 15% maximum slope where unavoidable due to terrain. Equestrian trails shall have maximum slopes of 20%. 3) Flatter grades of slope shall be used at intersections with streets or other trailway; 2.0% maximum slope. 4) Subgrade shall be shaped and compacted to 100% standard density. All topsoil, black dirt, peat, muck or silt soils shall be excavated and removed from beneath sidewalk and backfilled with select grading material unless an alternative design is approved by the City Engineer prior to commencing construction. 5) Surface water drainage shall be provided away from sidewalks with shallow drainage swales or ditches, culverts, and/or strom sewer as required. Subgrade of sidewalk to be a minimum of two (2) feet above water table.
