AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 170.06 to the City Code and repealing Section 170.038F of the City Code and repealing O~'dinance 88-4. The city of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. Chm~'ter 170.06 of the City Code is amended as 170.06 PARK AND OPEN SPACE DEDICATION 170.061 PURPOSE The city Council recognizes it is essential to the health, safety and welfare of the residents of Ramsey and persons working in Ransey, that the character and q ua!ity of the environment be considered to be of major importance in the planning and development of the City. In this regard, the m~nner in %,hich land is developed and used is of high priority. The preservation of land for park, playground and public open space pu_-poses as it relates to the use and development of land for residential, connercial/industrial pu~p_oses is essential to the maintaining of a healthful and desirable environment for all citizens of the City. The Cit}~ must not only provide these necessa_~y amenities for our citizens today, but also be insightful to the needs of our future citizens. it is recognized by the City Council that the demand for park, playground ~nd public open space within a municipality is directly related to the density and intensity of development peak-mitred and allowed wi=him any given area. Urban ts~e developments mean greater numbers cf people and higher demands for par}[, playground and p~!ic open space. To disregard this principle is to inevitably over-tax existing facilities and thus, diminish the quality cf the environment for all. !
