AUTHORIZATION TO AMEND <br />CITY COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br />By= Merland Otto <br /> <br />Background= <br /> <br />On June 13, 1989 as part of the MUSA expansion effort, the City <br />Council adopted resolutions 89-06-127, 89-06-129 and 89-06-130 <br />which set forth the required ordinance revisions and directed staff <br />to revise appropriate sections of the city's comprehensive plan. <br />Those resolutions were submitted to Metropolitan Council which <br />approved the MUSA expansion on July 13. <br /> <br />We have reviewed MC's comments of July 20, 1989 and their Systems <br />Information Statement which more definitively outlines the <br />amendments required. Based on this review, we have set forth work <br />plans and estimated costs for each major component of the <br />comprehensive plan requiring revision. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />The City is committed to amending the comp plan by January 1, 1990 <br />in order to receive the phase II MUSA expansion acreage (205 <br />acres) . <br /> <br />The comp plan must be amended so that zoning ordinances are <br />consistent with the policies of the City's comp plan. <br /> <br />staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 89-09- <br />revisions to the City's comp plan. <br /> <br />authorizing <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt/not adopt resolution 89- authorizing the <br />amendments to cOmponents of the City's comprehensive plan. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney X <br />City Engineer X <br />Community Development Dir.
