Announcements of appropriate job openings shall be regularly sent to organizations <br />within the labor market who specifically represent women, minorities, and the <br />handicapped. <br /> <br />d. Ail employees shall be informed of the Affirmative Action goals and the City's commitment <br /> to achieving its goals within targeted periods. <br /> <br />The employment application form currently utilized is intended to eliminate artificial <br />employment barriers by not requiring irrelevant information as a part of employee <br />selection that is not directly representative of an applicant's skills or qualifications to <br />perform the duties of any position. <br /> <br />It shall be inconsistent with this Affirmative Action Program for any department head or <br />otherwise hiring authority to consider race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, <br />age, marital status, public assistance status, handicap or disability as a basis for <br />rejecting any individual applicant for employment. <br /> <br />D. Selection and Hiring <br /> <br />1. All applications for employment at the City of Ramsey shall be reviewed to determine if <br /> applicants meet minimum qualifications for the position. <br /> <br />2. The selection process shall give prime consideration to minimum qualifications necessary <br /> to perform the job. The selection process shall give consideration to extra qualifications <br /> of candidates only when opportunities for advancement, exist_within a_reasonable amount <br /> of time. <br /> <br />3.
