Twenty lots would be <br />created on this 75 acre site. As indicated on the attached drawing, the <br />majority of we:land encroachment is necessary :o create a crossing site for <br />Xenon Street and to extend 159th Avenue NE from the west. .Other fill areas <br />would be the back edges of four or five lots. %ne road fill was estimated at <br />about .8 acre and the lot fill at about .6 acre. <br /> <br /> VEGETATION IN ~FECTED'-'~P~F.~! %ne wetlands are characterized as T3~e 2/6 <br />with areas of wet meadow and scru~o shr~o. ~ne wetland to be filled is <br />adjacent to State Protected Wa:ers 734W and 735W and along a ditch which is <br />tributary to the Rum River. <br /> <br /> SOURCE OF FILL.MATERIAL: Onsite grading and from an area about 1/4 mile <br />north of the project site. Material is being brought from offsite to minimize <br />the amount of grading disturbance on the project site. <br /> <br /> SUE_ROUNDING LAND USE: Much of the surrounding area is currently being <br />developed into residential housing. <br /> <br /> MITIGATION: An earlier proposal included :he excavation of 3 circular <br />ponds along the we:land fringe. To provide additional open water habitat <br />wi:bin the wetland, over and above stormwa:er retention areas, the applicant <br />has reshaped and enlarged the ponding areas.
