SPECIAL JOINT MEETING WITH PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> TO DISCUSS SURFACE WATER MANAGEMENT ISSUES <br /> By: David R, Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />As you may know, the surface water management in Ramsey and other communities is governed <br />by a variety of state agencies and organizations in addition to the City of Ramsey. Recently there <br />has been debate among legislators in other cities expressing a concern over this duplication of <br />effort. <br /> <br />Recognizing that this issue will likely be addressed by the legislator in the upcoming short <br />session, the City of Ramsey should establish a position with respect to jurisdiction over surface <br />water matters. <br /> <br />To work through these issues, it has been suggested by the Planning and Zoning Commission that <br />the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Commission meet jointly to discuss these matters. <br />The suggested date for such a joint meeting is December 12, 1989 at 6:30 p.m. Note that this <br />meeting would be prior to the regularly scheduled Council Meeting affording the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission and the City Council approximately one (1) hour to discuss this issue. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to schedule a special meeting with the Planning and Zoning Commission on December 12, <br />1989 at 6:30 p.m. for the purpose of discussing surface water management options. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer X <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />/jmt <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Comm. <br />Park & Recreation Comm. <br /> <br /> <br />
