CASE #14 REVISED 11-14-89 CONSIDER ACQUISITION OF TAX FORFEIT LANDS By: Mark S. Banwart, Community Development Director Background: The County of Anoka submitted several parcels to the City for review and classification as tax forfeit lands. Chapter 282.01 Subdivision 1 of Minnesota Statutes requires that the City approve the classification of sale of tax forfeit parcels that lie within their jurisdiction. Additionally, the City desires to acquire any parcel lying within the boundaries of the City, it may do so within 90 days of the request for classification and sale approval by filing a written application with the County Board to withhold a parcel from sale. The County Board will then withhold the parcel from sale for one (1) year. Although the public auction for tax forfeit land parcels is set for November 18, 1989, the individual parcels could be withdrawn from the auction if they were to be re-purchased. The property is located on Highway #10 and represents one of the key parcels that will be needed for the proposed Ramsey/Dayton Mississippi River Bridge Crossing road network.
