CAS #11 <br /> <br /> REQUEST FOR SNOWPLOWING AT AIRPORT <br />By: Merle Mevissen, Public Works Supervisor <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Several years ago, Gateway Norlh Airport requested and received approval from the City Council <br />to have snowplowing done by the City crew wilh City equipment. This was to be done after all <br />City streets were plowed. It was done this way for two or three years and with our limited <br />amount of equipment, it was usually the second or third day after a snowfall before we got to <br />airport. They tried plowing it themselves with their small snowplow and it would not withstand <br />the heavy plowing involved with an airport. They are again requesting the City to plow the one <br />runway only when 1he snow depth is lhree inches or more. I estimate 1he time to plow the <br />runway at one hour.
