i. Landscaping Intent <br /> <br />To ensure that landscaping is an internal part of development, not an <br />afterthought. <br /> <br />j. CommunitY Participation Intent <br /> <br />To foster and support community forest programs and encourages good tree <br />management. <br /> <br />k. Not Intended <br /> <br />It is the intent of this ordinance to enhance the comnmnity and its citizenry, <br />and not to be punitive or to cause hardship to any individual, private or <br />public company. <br /> <br />Subd, 3, <br /> <br />Management Plan <br /> <br />a. Creation of the "Ramsey Tree Book" <br /> <br />A formal plan for the management of trees is appropriate to advance these <br />worthwhile purposes and intents. This plan shall include: <br /> <br />For reference and guidelines regarding principles for tree preservation in the <br />City of Ramsey, the creation of the "Ramsey Tree Book" is hereby <br />authorized. This book is to be offered upon request at no charge to the <br />citizens of Ramsey as well as the development community and other <br />interested parties. Copies of this book will be kept at the Ramsey <br />Community Development Office located at City Hall. <br /> <br />b. Landscaping <br /> <br />Lists of Desirable and Undesirable Trees - Copies of the lists of desirable <br />and undesirable trees, shrubs and natural vegetation shall be contained <br />within the "Ramsey Tree Book" and available at the Comlnunity <br />Development Office. The "Ramsey Tree Book" shall maintain an extensive <br />list of recommended vegetation for planting. The purpose of this listing will <br />be to maintain diversity in the total tree population. The list shall be <br />available to residents of the city upon request to aid in the selection of trees, <br />shrubs and natural vegetation for private and public properties. This list of <br />recommended species shall be updated periodically to reflect new <br />developments or species that will affect the population of the community <br />forest. <br /> <br />Size of Trees at Planting- For all reqnired plantings, deciduons trees shall <br />be a minimum of 1 (1) inches caliper at the planting and all evergreen trees <br />shall be a minimum of five (5) feet height at planting. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
