Motion by Councilmember Cook, seconded by Councilmember Kurak, to ratify the <br />recommendation of the Personnel Committee. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Cook, Kurak, Elvig, Pearson, <br />Strommen, and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />2) Discussion Regarding the Application Process for Boards and Commissions <br />The Personnel Committee directed staff to meet with the staff liaisons for the various Boards and <br />Commissions to come up with interview questions that would be relative to that particular Board- <br />or Commission. In addition, the Personnel Committee reviewed applications that other cities <br />require applicants to fill out when applying for a Board or Commission. The Personnel <br />Committee directed staff to put together an application similar to those presented for their review <br />at the next Committee meeting, tt was the thought of the Committee that the applications could <br />be used to score the applicants and then the top five candidates would be interViewed. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br /> Upcoming Meetings <br />· November 20th AMM and League of Cities Policy AdoPtion Meeting <br />· November 4'~' from 4:30 to 5:30 a Northstar Corridor Meeting in St. Cloud <br />· November 3~d City Council Work Session <br />· November 18t~` Budget Work Session following the Public Works Committee Meeting <br /> <br />2) Ramsey Fire Department Award Ceremony <br />Councilmember Pearson stated that he was much honored to be part of the Ramsey Award <br />Ceremony. He thanked the Fire Department for their invitation and all of their hard work. <br /> <br />3) Business List <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated that he has received a lot of complaints from the business community that <br />the City is providing a list of the local businesses for a fee. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman 'replied that that information is made available by the Chamber of <br />Commerce. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson explained that the information is available on the City's <br />website free of charge. If the City did charge someone for the list they would have charged them <br />for the copies only. She noted that they could remove the information from the website if the <br />Council directed staff to do so. <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodr/ch explained that if the City generated the information it is public <br />information. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig stated that maybe they should remove the information from the website. <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Nelson replied that she was surPrised that businesses would not <br />want their information made available. <br /> <br />P34 <br /> <br />City Council/October 28, 2003 <br /> Page 16 of 17 <br /> <br /> <br />
