I realize that to most of you, $16 a month probably isn't that much and won't impact your bank
accounts. However, for my family and hundreds of other families in Ramsey, $16 a month will
make an impact on our household.
My husband and I are expecting our first child in a couple of months and have had to take
extreme measures to cut back on our current expenses in order to afford basic necessities like
daycare and diapers. On top of this, my job just issued company -wide pay cuts, so our income
has decreased significantly.
Our story is not unique. We aren't the only ones facing tough times. Many residents of Ramsey
are young families and are struggling as it is. Please don't add extra stress to your constituents.
Raising taxes is the easy way out. I'm respectfully asking you to withdraw your support on this
"franchise fee" and instead spend your time trying to come up with other solutions. We simply
cannot afford to pay more than we already are. I can promise you that come election time, we
are much more likely to remember which city council members raised our taxes.
Please do the right thing.
Respectfully,
Amber Chrudimsky
Jason Tossey
Council member Ward #3
jtossey @ci.ramsey.mn.us
612 - 516 -3791
2
