I know how the game is played and I see the failures of government on a daily basis. <br />I truly wish we had elected leaders at all levels that understood what government is suppose <br />to do at each level and they truly believed in limited government and maximum freedom. <br />Now, with that out of the way, let's focus on the City of Ramsey. I have seen it flutter in the wind <br />for many years due to the failure of council after council. Those that started the Town Center project <br />and then continued to waste tax funds year after year trying to save this failed project are examples <br />of people that don't understand the role of government. Government should not be "investing" or <br />trying to guess what the market place wants. This includes floating loans for projects that developers <br />can't get money for from a private lending institution. There is no way for our elected leaders to know what <br />the free people engaging in free commerce will ultimately want. This is for the market to decide and <br />not a handful of politicians that want to line their pockets, the pockets of friends /family or promote <br />their radical agendas (ie, some environmental agendas come to mind). Government only consumes, <br />it does not produce. <br />1 <br />
