The area where the budget is described has a <br />statement that I would like clarified: "A franchise fee of $ 8 per month for each gas and electric utility serving all <br />commercial, industrial or residential properties throughout the city would generate " (italics mine) <br />My question is this — are you planning to tax each utility that a residence has? For instance, I have electric and gas. Does <br />that mean that you are going to add $16 PER MONTH to my bill? One tax alone is $96 per year....already too much. <br />I submit that even the $8 /month is inappropriate. It feels like grand larceny to me, and that we don't even have a say in <br />this.
