Let me first say that I welcome the improvements that are planned -- if I understand correctly what is going to happen. I have talked with Mr. Mark Banwart on three different occasions and have gotten three different answers. He is a person I cannot trust. In brief, my understanding is that the north and south ends of Bison Street are going to be improved; i.e., realignment- extension and black top. The middle section (in front of my house) will not be changed. Mr. Banwart told me I was contacted by the City and that I told them I didn't want a paved street. This was done at the time the north end improvements were planned. None of my neighbors were ever contacted. With regard to the south end, the Planning & Zoning Commission had a public hearing of which I was not notified because, I was told, my residence is more than 350 feet from the improvements. This policy needs to be changed. Unless Ramsey is different, don't all the land owners share in the cost of improvements to the street equally? Again, Mr. Banwart told me no work was being done in front of my house, so I had no expense in the improvements. I don't believe this. Personally, I think it's stupid to not pave the whole street while the equipment is there, it will never cost us any less. Please take the time to understand how the Planning & Zoning Commission handled their notification (or lack of it) before making any final decision. Let's do it right the first time.
