Background= <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee reviewed the specifications prepared <br />by Merle Mevissen for the purchase of a new truck. The <br />specifications had been revised from the previous truck purchased <br />to provide for heavier springs, radial tires, six speed <br />transmission and other minor changes. The Road and Bridge <br />Conumittee agreed with the amended specification. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee recommends that the City Council <br />adopt Resolution ~90-01- authorizing advertisement for bids for <br />purchase of a truck for the street department. <br /> <br />council Action: <br /> <br />See Consent Agenda for action. <br /> <br />B. Sale of Pumping Equipment <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Merle Mevissen indicated that the has two pumps he has been storing <br />since the wet years of 1985 and 1986. One of the pumps has not <br />been used for four years. Merle is wondering if this pump should <br />be designated as surplus property and sold. <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee discussed the possibility of trading <br />one of the pumps for an irrigation spray gun. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Road and Bridge Committee directed Merle to look into trading <br />the pump for an irrigation spray gun and also review the current <br />value of both the pump and the aluminum piping. He is to report <br />back to the Road and Bridge Committee at a future meeting. <br /> <br />Council ~ction: <br /> <br />No action required. <br /> <br />Item ~3~ Annual Certification of Mileage <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Pete Raatikka reported that he had recently completed the Annual <br />Certification of Mileage as of December 31, 1989. total street and <br />road mileage in the City exceeds 147 miles. Based on the new <br />mileage, the City could add 0.92 miles of street to its MSA street <br />system. There are a number of changes that should be made to the <br />MSA street system. One of the primary changes is the connection <br />of McKinley Street in Anoka. This will require the cooperation of <br />the City of Anoka. <br /> <br /> <br />
