PROPOSED STREET CRACK FILLING - 1990 <br />By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Over the past two years the city has been contracting out the <br />street crack filling prior to the seal coating. <br /> <br />At the first council meeting in May, the council will be <br />considering ordering plans and specifications for seal coating and <br />bituminous overlays. The feasibility studies stated that the City <br />would fill cracks and make repairs prior to the seal coating and <br />overlays. To keep the projects on schedule, the City should <br />prepare specifications and obtain price quotes for the 1990 crack <br />filling. I have estimated the cost of crack filling for the <br />Droposed overlay areas and seal coating areas with the exception <br />of Pondvale Estates to be less than $15,000. I am proposing to <br />delete Pondvale Estates since this area may receive sewer and water <br />in the near future. I would also propose that the crack filling <br />on 153rd Avenue, 167th Avenue and Variolite.be completed. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Authorize City Engineer to prepare specifications and obtain price <br />quotes for 1990 street crack filling. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to direct City Engineer to prepare specifications and obtain <br />price quotes for 1990 street crack filling. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Dir. <br /> <br /> Chief of Police <br /> Finance Officer <br />X Public Works Supt.
