c. Signs erected by a governmental unit or public school <br /> district; <br /> <br />d. Temporary signs as listed in Section 170.053P Subd. 1. <br /> Subd. 3. Subd. 4. and Subd. 5; <br /> <br />eJ <br /> <br />Memorial signs or tablets containing the name of the <br />building, its use and date of erection, when cut or built into <br />walls of the building and constructed of bronze, brass, <br />stone or marble; <br /> <br />f. Signs which are completely within a building and are not <br /> visible from the outside of said building. <br /> <br />170.057 Notice <br /> <br />If the zoning officer or his agent shall find that any sign regulated by this <br />ordinance is unsafe, insecure or is a menace to the public, or has been <br />constructed or erected without a permit first being granted to the owner of <br />the property upon which said sign has been erected, or is in violation of any <br />other provisions of this ordinance, he shall give written notice of such <br />violation to the owner or permittee thereof. If the owner fails to remove or <br />alter the sign so as to comply with the provisions set forth in this ordinance <br />within ten (10) calendar days following receipt of said notice, such signs <br />may be removed by the city, the cost incident thereto being levied as a <br />special assessment against the property upon which the sign is located. <br /> <br />170.058 Penalties <br /> <br />Each day the violation continues in existence shall be deemed a separate <br />violation. All signs are subject to such penalty for violation of the <br />requirements of the district within which they are located, even though they <br />may not be required by this ordinance to pay a fee or acquire a permit. <br /> <br />170.059 Appeals <br /> <br />To provide for a reasonable interpretation of the provisions of this <br />ordinance, a permit applicant who wishes to appeal an interpretation by the <br />zoning officer or his agent may file a notice of appeals with the city c!crk <br />administrator and request a heating before the Board of Adjustment. The <br />Board of Adjustment shall hear the appeal, make findings, and take its <br />action in the following cases: <br /> <br /> Subdivision 1. Appeals where it is alleged that there is an <br />error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by the <br />zoning officer in the enforcement of this ordinance; Request for variances <br />from the literal provisions of this section in instances where their strict <br />enforcement would cause an undue hardship. <br /> <br /> Sub& 2.
