Sub(L 9. "Canopy and Marquee" means a roof-like structure <br />projecting over the entrance to a theater, store, etc. <br /> <br /> Subd. 10. "District" refers to a specific zoning district as <br />defined in the zoning ordinance. <br /> <br /> Subd. 11. "Free Standing Sign" means a sign which is placed <br />in the ground and not affixed to any part of any structure. <br /> <br />erected by a <br />traffic. <br /> <br />Subd. 12. "Governmental Sign" means a sign which is <br />governmental unit for the purpose of directing or guiding <br /> <br /> Subd. 13. "Nameplate or Identification Sign" means a sign <br />which bears the name and/or address of the occupants of the building. <br /> <br /> Subd. 18. "Nonconforming Sign" means a sign which <br />lawfully existed prior to the adoption of this ordinance, but does not conform <br />to the newly enacted requirements of this ordinance. <br /> <br /> Sub& 19. "Portable Sign" means a sign so designed as to be <br />movable from one location to another, which is not attached to the ground <br />or any structure. <br /> <br /> Sub& 20. "Projecting Sign" means any sign, all or any part of <br />which extends over public property. <br /> <br /> Sub& 23.
