CASE <br /> <br />REPORT FROM PERSONNEL COMMITTEE <br />By: Kay McAioney, Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br /> 1) On May 14, 1990 the Personnel Committee interviewed the finalist for the Public <br />Works Maintenance Worker position, James Lacey. Utilities/Parks Coordinator Mark Boos, <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen and City Administrator David Hartley recommended to <br />the Personnel Committee that the position be offered to James Lacey based on his experience and . <br />skills. A motion was made and seconded to offer the position of Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker to James Lacey, as the Personnel Committee has been given the authority to offer <br />employment for positions in salary grades 1, 1.5 and 2. <br /> <br /> 2) On May 14, 1990 the Personnel Committee reviewed the annual performance <br />appraisal for Public Works Maintenance Worker Grant Riemer. Utilities/Parks Coordinator Mark <br />Boos and Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen, with City Administrator David Hartley in <br />agreement, recommended to the Personnel Committee to approve a salary increase per the terms of <br />the AFSCME bargaining unit contract. A motion was made and seconded to recommend that City <br />Council accept the performance appraisal for Grant Riemer and approve a salary increase to <br />$19,767 annually, in salary grade 2, per the terms of the AFSCME bargaining unit contract, with <br />an effective date of May 15, 1990. <br /> <br /> 3) On May 14, 1990 the Personnel Committee reviewed the annual performance <br />appraisal for City Assessor John Keefe. Community Development Director Mark Banwart, with <br />City Administrator David Hartley in agreement, recommended to the Personnel Committee to <br />approve a salary increase per the terms of the AFSCME bargaining unit contract. A motion was <br />made and seconded to recommend that City Council accept the performance appraisal for John <br />Keefe and approve a salary increase to $30,550 annually, in salary grade 5, per the terms of the <br />AFSMCE bargaining unit contract, with an effective date of May 16, 1990. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br /> 1) Motion to adopt/not adopt Resolution 890-05- confirming the action of the <br />Personnel Committee to offer the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker in salary grade 2 <br />to James Lacey to begin employment approximately May 21, 1990 or sooner at $17,790 annually. <br /> <br /> 2) Motion to adopt/not adopt Resolution gO0-05-__ confzm'ing the recommendation <br />of the Personnel Committee to increase the annual salaD' of Grant Riemer, Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker, per the terms of the AFSCME bargaining unit contract to $19,767, in salary <br />grade 2, effective May 15, 1990. <br /> <br /> 3) Motion to adopt/not adopt Resolution g90-05-__ confirming the recommendation <br />of the Personnel Committee to increase the annual salary of John Keefe, City Assessor, per the <br />terms of the AFSCME bargaining unit contract to $30,550, in salary, grade 5, effective May 16, <br />1990. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Public Works Supervisor <br />Personnel Coordinator <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />X <br /> <br /> <br />
