Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION gO0-05- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT TO .lAMES <br />LACEY FOR PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER POSITION <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, there is a vacancy in the City of Ramsey Public Works Department <br />for Public Works Maintenance Worker in salary grade 2; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, 84 City of Ramsey applications were received for the position; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, seven applicants were contacted and interviewed for the position by <br />Public Works Supervisor Merle Mevissen, Utilities/Parks Coordinator Mark Boos, and <br />Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, one individual, James Lacey, possessed outstanding experience <br />and communication skills; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Staff recommended that the Personnel Committee interview <br />the final applicant, James Lacey, on May 9, 1990; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS the Personnel Committee has been given the authority to hire in <br />salary grades 1, 1.5 and 2; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Staff recommended that Mr. Lacey be offered the position of <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker be begin employment with the City of Ramsey on <br />approximately May 21, 1990, or sooner if Mr. Lacey is available; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Staff further recommended that Mr. Lacey be offered the six- <br />month rate of salary grade 2, which is $17,790 annually, based on the experience, special <br />skills and qualifications that Mr. Lacey would be bringing to the City of Ramsey. The <br />offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of physical examination, <br />including drug and alcohol screen; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Personnel Committee interviewed finalist James Lacey at their <br />meeting on May 9, 1990 and was in agreement w/th City Staff to offer the position of <br />Public Works Maintenance Worker to Mr. Lacey with a starting date of approximately May <br />21, 1990 with an annual salary of $17,790 in salary grade 2. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as <br />follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the CiD, Council of Ramsey confu'ms the action of the Personnel Committee to <br />offer the position of Public Works Maintenance Worker in salary grade 2 to James <br />Lacey to begin employment approximately May 21, 1990 or sooner at $17,790 <br />annually. <br /> <br />The motion for <br />Councilmember <br />favor thereof: <br /> <br />the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in <br /> <br /> <br />
