COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> Office of the County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />COURTHOUSE ANOKA, MINNESOTA 55303 612-421-4760 <br /> <br />October 12, 1989 <br /> <br />MEMO TO: '" F1" <br /> "F2 "" <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Carolyn Smith, Anoka County Solid Waste Abatement Specialist <br /> <br />SCORE (Select Committee on Recycling and the Environment) Legislation <br /> <br />SCORE recYcling legislation was attached to the tax bill and was passed during the special <br />legislative session in September. Many mandates were included in the bill. Of particular <br />interest to the Cities of Coon Rapids, East Bethel, Ham Lake and Ramsey is the following <br />provision: <br /> <br />Section 13 [115A.552] [OPPORTUNITY TO RECYCLE] <br /> <br />Subd. 2. [RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES] <br /> Three (3) monthly pick-ups of at least four recyclable materials in cities of the first <br /> and second class and cities with 5,000 or more population in the metropolitan <br /> area, <br /> <br />Section 20 [EFFECTIVE DATE] <br /> <br />Section 13 is effective October 1, 1990 <br /> <br />I strongly urge you to start planning now for a curbside recycling program for your city.
