REPORT ON STATUS OF JUNIPER WOODS ADDITION DEVELOPMENT AND CONSTRUCTION By: Pete Raatikka, City Engineer CASE Background: As a result af questions arising from the construction of the.. utilities and drainage improvements for the plat of Juniper Woods, I have prepared a brief history of the project and the current status. Following is a list of events relating to this plat. In August, 1987, the developer received preliminary sketch plan approval and petitioned the City for trunk sewer and water. In January, 1988, City Council' accepted the feasibility study and ordered a public hearing. Cm In February, 1988, the public hearing on trunk facilities was held and the developer petitioned for lateral utilities and street. Planning and zoning also approved final sketch plan review. On April 5, 1988, Planning and Zoning Commission conducted a public hearing for the request for preliminary plat approval of Juniper Woods. Planning and Zoning tabled action pending ability to get municipal sewer and water. ee On March 28, 1989, Planning and Zoning made a recommendation for approval of Juniper Woods Addition as revised on May 5, 1988 to consist of 73 lots contingent on area being included in the MUSA boundary. At that time, ponding was .proposed on Block 2 with an overflow to the Rum River. On April 25, 1989, city Council approved the preliminary plat for Juniper Woods contingent on the area being included in the MUSA boundary. In June, 1989, the city received a petition for utilities and streets for Phase I of Juniper Woods and ordered preparation of a feasibility study. On July 13, 1989, Metropolitan Council granted a FFJSA boundary expansion which included the plat of Juniper Woods. On August 8, 1989, City Council received the feasibility study or u~=_=~ies and set the public hearing date.
