CASE <br /> <br />JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR THE ACQUISITION OF OPTICAL <br />SCAN VOTE TABULATION EQUIPMENT <br /> By: David R. Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the City Council's last regular meeting a demonstration was provided by a representative <br />from Unisys of the Unisys E$-2000 Optical Scan Vote Tabulation System. Previously, we <br />have heard from Maureen Gallos from Anoka County regarding the County's plans to use <br />optical scan vote tabulation equipment during this year's election. Before the City Council, <br />is a joint powers agreement between the cities and townships in Anoka County for the <br />purpose of jointly purchasing the Unisys ES-2000 system. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Authorize Mayor and City Administrator to enter into a joint powers agreement for the <br />acquisition of optical scan vote tabulation equipment. <br /> <br />Motion to request the City's Finance Officer to prepare an amendment to the 1990 Budget <br />transferring funds from the Landfill Trust Fund to the General Fund for the purpose of <br />purchasing optical scan vote tabulation equipment <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director <br />Public Works Supervisor <br /> <br />X <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />F'mance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br /> <br /> <br />
