8045 Groveland Rd
MoundsView,MN55112
June 14, 1990

Glen C. Elliis, P.E.
District Final Design Engineer
Minnesota Department of Transportation
2055 North Lilac Drive
Golden Valley, MN 55422

Re:

S.P. 0202-64 (T.H. 10)
S.P. 7101-50 (T.H. 10)
From Anoka to Elk River

Dear Mr. Ellis,

It has come to our attention of your plan to close the median cross
over just west of the State truck weigh station on Highway 10
between Anoka and Elk River. We own seven acres approximately 1OO
feet northwest from this median cross-over. To date, we have
developed approximately two acres. Our building houses the
following tennants,

Instantop, Inc. 9421Hwy 10 NW
Custom Cutter & Grinding, 9423 Hwy. 10 NW
E & T Machining, 9425 Hwy. 10 NW

The closing of this median cross-over and cutting off access to
their place of business and our property will be very detrimental
to them and to our future building and expansion plans of this
piece of property.

We are very much opposed to the closing of this cross-over UNLESS
you make a left' hand turn lane and median crossing directly across
from our access on Highway 10. The addition of a right hand turn
lane to our access on Highway 10 would do more to improve the
general safety of Highway 10 in this area than the elimination of
this cross-over. To date, we know of no accidents at said cross-
over in the last four and one-half years.

A prompt response will be appreciated.

Sincerely,

Carroll ~Welte
Prances Welte

cc: Peter Raatikka, City Engineer, City of Ramsey
