District Final Design Engineer Minnesota Department of Transportation 2055 North Lilac Drive Golden Valley, MN 55422 Re: S.P. 0202-64 (T.H. 10) S.P. 7101-50 (T.H. 10) From Anoka to Elk River Dear Mr. Ellis: It has come to our attention of your plan to close the median cross over Just west of the State truck weigh station on Highway 10 between Anoka and Elk River. We are a small buisiness located approximately 200 feet NW from proposed median cross-over closing. Approximately one-half of our customers at present come from the Elk River area and surrounding communities. The closing of this crossover and cutting off access to our place of business would be very detrimental to our business. We do a lot of business in Elk River and make numerous trips there each day. Closing our access would add another 1.1 mile of driving for each of our trips to the Elk River area and for all of our customers coming from the west. No access from the west would also deter the majority of our implulse driveb¥ consumers from stopping, thereby reducing our sales and ultimately forcing the close of our business. It is a well know fact in Retail Sales that the consumer must have convenient access to your business location in order to succeed. We have used the State Weigh Station and the cross-over as a landmark on how to find our location for the last four and one-half years.
