CITY-WIDE CURBSIDE <br />RECYCLING PROGRAM PROPOSAL <br />By: James Gromberg, Project Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />At the May 22, 1990 Ramsey City Council meeting the City Council requested that City <br />Staff develop a City-wide Curbside Recycling Program that would be provided by the <br />current haulers. City Staff conducted a meeting with the licensed residential haulers on <br />June 20, 1990. At this meeting the licensed residential haulers suggested that the City <br />develop a consortium of haulers to provide the recycling service. In the attached report, <br />City Staff has developed a program for City-wide Curbside Recycling. The proposed <br />program is the service that City Staff feels will be the most cost effective for the City to <br />provide and manage and will fulfill the requirements of the SCORE legislation. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of plans and specifications for the City-wide Curbside <br />Recycling Program and authorization to advertise for bids for the program. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt Resolution//90-07- approving plans and specifications and ordering <br />advertisement for bids for the City-Wide Curbside Recycling Program. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator X <br />City Attorney <br />City Engineer <br />Community Development Director X <br />Public Works Supervisor <br /> <br />Chief of Police <br />Finance Officer <br />Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Park & Recreation Commission <br />Project Manager <br /> <br />X <br /> <br /> <br />
