Date: 07-28-90

Subjectl Conditional Use permit Cot Craig Johnson

To: Planning & Zoning Commission
15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303
CC: Mr. & Mrs. Craig Johnson
File

~rom:

ECEiVED
AUG 0 2
............
Doug & Judy Pries
.... 17511 Gibbon S%. N.W.
Ramsey, MN 55303

I In the interest o¢ being good nieghbors and staying good nieghbors, had
Craig Johnson approached us be¢ore he purchased his home and declared his
intentions of operating a Auto Repair Garage out of %his home, he would
I have been able to get an understanding of how the people living around him
would receive this enterprise.

i to

I
I
I
I

Mr. Johnson approached my husband and convinced him to sign a petition
allow him to operate a car repair service. My husband and I have since
had an opportunity to discuss %his and our mu%ual vote has changed.

~l' We moved here to this residential district to raise a family, and
to gain equity in a home in a prime building area, where we ¢orsee large
increases in property values in years to come.

#2 We don't see how a neighbor conducting a business out of his home
would be advantageous to our market property value. If a conditional use
permit is transferable, <this s~a%emen% was brought to our attention
recently), we could be looking at a junk yard across the road should Craig
Johnson sell that home.

My husband signed this peri%ion without my knowledge and I am no% in
agreement with it, nor is he now in agreement.

We feel that Mr Johnson should be given a conditional use permit oo1%
if he has .one car on his premises undergoing service at a %ime, and
subsequent homeowners of this residence should also have this restriction.
I We must protect what is ours, and deeply regret any inconvenience The
Johnson's will experience due to our feelings abou% their conditional use
permi% request. We hope that they will understand our side and that no
I {eelings occur as a were hoping %ha% we
hard
will
result
O~
this.
We
~ould get an opportunity to meet them and perhaps find friends in one
another.

Sincerely,

IDou.~as E. and L. Pries
