PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />1. <br />SECTION 01410 <br />TESTING LABORATORY SERVICES <br />A. Work included: <br />Provide testing and inspecting, complete, as described in this Section and <br />elsewhere in the Contract Documents. <br />B. Related Work: <br />1. Documents affecting work of this Section include, but are not necessarily <br />limited to, General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions and Sections <br />in Division 1 of these Specifications. <br />2. Requirements for testing may be described in various Sections of these <br />Specifications. <br />1.2 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Provide the services of a soil engineer and a testing laboratory approved by the <br />Architect. <br />B. Upon completion of each test and/ or inspection, promptly distribute copies of <br />test or inspection reports to the Architect, to governmental agencies requiring <br />submission of such reports, and to such other persons as directed by the <br />Architect. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 PAYMENT FOR TESTING <br />A. Include within the Contract Sum an amount sufficient to cover all testing and <br />inspecting required under this Section of these Specifications, and to cover all <br />testing and inspecting required by governmental agencies having jurisdiction. <br />B. The Owner will pay for all testing and inspecting specifically requested by the <br />Architect over and above those described in Paragraph 2.1-A above. <br />C. When initial tests requested by the Architect indicate non-compliance with the <br />Contract Documents, costs of initial tests associated with that non-compliance <br />will be deducted by the Owner from the Contract Sum, and subsequent retesting <br />occasioned by the non-compliance shall be performed by the same testing <br />laboratory and the costs thereof shall be paid by the Contractor. <br />01410-1 <br />
