2.2 SPECIFIC TESTS AND INSPECTIONS <br />A. Provide all tests and inspections required by governmental agencies having <br />jurisdiction, required by provisions of the Contract Documents, and such other <br />tests and inspections as are directed by the Architect. <br />B. Tests include, but are not necessarily limited to, those described in detail in Part 3 <br />of this Section. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 TAKING SPECIMENS <br />A. Except as may be specifically otherwise approved by the Architect, have the <br />testing laboratory secure and handle all samples and specimens for testing. <br />3.2 COOPERATION WITH TESTING LABORATORY <br />A. Provide access to the Work at all items and at all locations where the Work is in <br />progress. Provide facilities for such access to enable the laboratory to perform its <br />functions properly. <br />3.3 SOIL INSPEC'ING AND TESTING <br />A. Make required inspections and tests including, but not necessarily limited to: <br />1. Visually inspect on -site and imported fill and backfill, making such tests <br />and retests as are necessary to determine compliance with the Contract <br />requirements and suitability for the proposed purpose; <br />2. Make field density tests on samples from in -place material as required; <br />3. As pertinent, inspect and test the scarifying and re -compacting of cleaned <br />subgrade; inspect the progress of excavating, filling, and grading; make <br />90 % density tests at fills and backfills; and verify compliance with <br />provisions of the Contract Documents and governmental agencies having <br />jurisdiction. <br />B. Make and distribute necessary reports and certificates. <br />3.4 CONCRETE INSPECTING AND lESTING <br />A. Laboratory design mix: <br />1. Provide mix design in accordance with ACI 613. <br />2. Provide designs for all mixes prepared by a licensed Civil Engineer. <br />B. Molded concrete cylinders: <br />1. Provide three test cylinders for each 150 cu yds, or fraction thereof, of <br />each class of concrete of each day's placement. <br />01410-2 <br />
