2. Test one cylinder at seven days, one at 28 days, and one when so directed. <br />3. Report the mix, slump, gage, location of concrete in the structure, and test <br />results. <br />4. Take specimens and make tests in accordance with the applicable ASTM <br />standard specifications. <br />C. Core tests: <br />1. Provide only when specifically so directed by the Architect because of <br />low cylinder test results. <br />2. Cut from locations directed by the Architect, securing in accordance with <br />ASTM C42, and prepare and test in accordance with ASTM C39. <br />D. Placement inspections: <br />1. On concrete over 2,500 psi, provide continuous or other inspection as <br />required by governmental agencies having jurisdiction. <br />2. Throughout progress of concrete placement, make slump tests to verify <br />conformance with specified slump. <br />3. Using all required personnel and equipment, throughout progress of <br />concrete placement verify that finished concrete surfaces will have the <br />level or slope that is required by the Contract Documents. <br />3.5 CONCRETE REINFORCEMENT INSPECTING AND TESTING <br />A. <br />Prior to use, test all reinforcement steel bars for compliance with the <br />specified standards. <br />1. Material identified by mill test reports, does not require additional <br />testing. Require the supplier to furnish mill test reports. <br />2. Tag identified steel at the supplier's shop. When steel arrives at the job <br />site without such tags, test it as unidentified steel. <br />B. Unidentified steel: <br />1. Have the testing laboratory select samples consisting of two pieces, each <br />18" long, of each size. <br />2. Have the testing laboratory make one tensile test and one bend test for <br />each 2-1/2 tons or fraction thereof of each size of unidentified steel. <br />C. Provide continuous inspection for all welding of reinforcement steel. <br />D. Provide observation of placement of reinforcement steel. <br />3.6 STRUCTURAL STEEL INSPECTING AND TESTING <br />A. Prior to use, test all structural steel for compliance with the specified standards. <br />1. Material identified by mill test reports does not require additional testing. <br />Require the supplier to furnish mill test reports. <br />01410-3 <br />
