2. Tag identified steel at the supplier's shop. When steel arrives at the job <br />site without such tags, test it as unidentified steel. <br />B. Unidentified steel: <br />1. Have testing laboratory make one tensile test an done bend test for each <br />five tons or fraction thereof of each shape and size of unidentified <br />structural steel. <br />C. Shop welding in unapproved shops: <br />1. Provide qualified testing laboratory inspector. <br />2. On single pass welds, inspect after completion of welding and prior to <br />painting. <br />3. On multiple pass welds, and on butt welds with cove pass on the back <br />side, provide continuous inspection. <br />D. Field welding: Provide continuous inspection by a qualified testing laboratory <br />inspector. <br />3.7 GOVERNMENT MANDATED INSPECTIONS <br />A. In addition to the inspections required above, provide inspections during <br />construction on the following types of work: <br />B. Concrete: During the taking of test specimens and placing of reinforced concrete <br />and pneumatically placed concrete except: <br />1. For foundation concrete when the structural design is based on a f/c no <br />greater than 2,500 psi. <br />2. Nonstructural slabs on grade, including prestressed slabs on grade when <br />effective prestress in concrete is less than 150 pounds per square inch. <br />3. Site work concrete full -supported on earth and concrete where no special <br />hazard exists. <br />C. Bolts installed in concrete: During installation of bolts and placing of concrete <br />around such bolts when stress increases are utilized as noted. <br />D. Reinforcing steel and prestressing steel: <br />1. During all stressing and grouting of prestressed concrete. <br />2. During placing of reinforcing steel, placing of tendons and prestressing <br />steel for all concrete required to have special inspection by Item No. 1. <br />3. Exception: The special inspector need not be present during entire <br />reinforcing steel and prestressing steel placing operations, provided he <br />has inspected for conformance with the approved plans, prior to the <br />closing of forms or the delivery of concrete to the job site. <br />E. Welding: All structural welding, including welding of reinforcing steel. <br />1. Exceptions: <br />01410-4 <br />
