1. Use necessary precautions to maintain identification after bundles are <br />broken. <br />2. Store in a manner to prevent excessive rusting and fouling with dirt, <br />grease, and other bond -breaking coatings. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.1 REINFORCEMENT MATERIALS AND ACCESSORIES <br />A. Bars: <br />1. Provide deformed billet steel bars complying with ASTM A615, using <br />grades shown on the Drawings. <br />2. Where grades are not shown on the Drawings, use grade 60. <br />3. Provide epoxy coated bars for the bars at main piers. <br />B. Steel wire: <br />1. Comply with ASTM A82. <br />2. For tie wire, comply with Fed Spec QQ-W-461, annealed steel, black, 16 <br />gage minimum. <br />C. Welded wire fabric: <br />1. Provide welded steel, complying with ASTM A185. <br />D. Welding electrodes: <br />1. Comply with AWS A5.1, low hydrogen, E70 series. <br />E. Bolsters, chairs, spacers, and other devices for spacing, supporting, and fastening <br />reinforcement in place: <br />1. Use wire bar type supports complying with CRSI recommendations, <br />unless otherwise shown on the Drawings. <br />2. Do not use wood, brick, or other non -complying material. <br />3. For slabs on grade, use supports with sand plates or horizontal runners <br />where base material will not support chair legs. <br />4. For exposed -to -view concrete surfaces, where legs of supports are in <br />contact with forms, provide supports with either hot -dip galvanized or <br />plastic -protected legs. <br />2.2 FABRICATION <br />A. General: <br />1. Fabricate reinforcing bars to conform to the required shapes and <br />dimensions, with fabrication to tolerances complying with the CRSI <br />Manual. <br />2. In case of fabricating errors, do not straighten or re -bend reinforcement in <br />a manner that will weaken or injure the material. <br />3. Reinforcement with any of the following defects will not be acceptable. <br />03200-2 <br />
