3.3 PAINT APPLICATION <br />A. General: <br />1. Materials shall be applied in strict accordance with manufacturer's <br />instructions. Each coat shall be applied at a rate not to exceed <br />manufacturer's recommendation for the type of surface and shall have a <br />dry film thickness not less than that recommended <br />2. Workmanship: Paint and varnish shall be applied at proper consistency <br />in accordance with best practice, evenly, without sags, drips, runs, brush <br />marks, thin spots or other defects. <br />3. Sanding: Allow each coat to dry thoroughly before sanding or applying <br />subsequent coats. Lightly sand each coat of varnish and enamel applied <br />to wood or metal with fine sandpaper and wipe clean with a tack rag <br />before the next coat is applied. Avoid cutting through edges. <br />4. Doors: Tops, bottoms and edges of doors shall be given the same finish <br />as door faces after fitting. <br />3.4 PAINTING SCHEDULE <br />A. General: <br />1. Provide the following paint systems for the various substrates listed: <br />a. Gypsum Board Walls & Ceilings & Soffits <br />1 coat <br />2 coats <br />Hirshfield Wall Primer <br />Hirshfield Platinum Ceramic (Eggshell) <br />b. Hollow Metal Frames & Metal Doors. <br />2 coat Hirshfield Enamel, Eggshell <br />c. Interior wood wainscot & wood ceilings. <br />1 coat <br />1 coat <br />Hirschfield solid stain clear coat <br />Hirshfield clear polyurethane. <br />d. Hardwood Cabinets <br />Hardwood Moldings & Trim <br />09900-3 <br />
