Our Mission: To work together to responsibly grow our community, and to provie quality, cost-effective, an efficient government services <br />CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 11/26/2013 <br />By: Mark Riverblood, Engineering/Public Works <br />Information <br />7.2. <br />Title: <br />Adopt Resolution #13-11-204 Rejecting Various Bids on the Elmcrest Park Community Building Project and Authorizing Staffto Obtain Quotes and/or <br />Negotiate Contracts. <br />Purpose/Background: <br />Purpose: To reject the various bids on the Elmcrest Park Community Building and receive direction to obtain quotes and/or negotiate contracts. <br />Background: The Park and Recreation Commission have been planning in earnest for the community park building at Elmcrest Park for more than one-half year. <br />In September 2013, Council authorized the advertisement for bids, pursuant to the approved plans and specifications. 24 separate bids were received, opened <br />and read aloud on Monday, November 18th, 2013. Of the 27 different categories of work, 11 categories of work received 'no bids'. Additionally, for 6 divisions <br />of work Staff feels that the bids were too high and would result in a building construction cost approximately $90,000 higher than the estimate provided to <br />Council in September. <br />Based upon the above findings, and with concurrence of the City Attorney, Staff is seeking authorization to immediately obtain quotes for the 11 categories of <br />work, and for the divisions of work identified in the attached Resolution for Bid Rejection; and bring back to City Council a Guaranteed Maximum Price for <br />Council consideration on December loth, 2013. <br />Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends adopting Resolution #13-11-204 rejecting bids on the Elmcrest Park building Project and authorizing Staff to seek quotes and/or negotiate <br />contracts so as to obtain all of the subcontracts necessary to construct the building at an equitable cost. <br />Action: <br />Motion to Adopt Resolution #13-11-204 Rejecting Various Bids on the Elmcrest Park Community Building Project and Authorizing Staffto Obtain Quotes <br />and/or Negotiate Contracts. <br />Resolution #13-11-204 <br />Form Started By Jo Tluelmg <br />Final Approval Date. 11/22/2013 <br />Attachments <br />Form Review <br />Started On 11/22/2013 10 14 AM <br />
