Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #91-03: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE CONSTRUCTION OF TH 610/TH 10 AS A <br />TOLL ROAD <br /> , <br /> WIlE EAS, the City joins with its sister cities in the North Metro area in supporting the <br />construction of North Metro TH 610/Th 10 Crosstown project; and <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, the City believes that the North Metro TH 610/TH 10 Crosstown project is <br />the highest priority transportation project for the North Metro area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the communities of the North Metro area have waited for the North Metro <br />TH 610/Th 10 Crosstown project to reach the top of the transportation priority list for the past <br />fifteen years; and <br /> <br /> WItEREAS, the North Metro TH 610/TH 10 Crosstown project is a critical piece of east- <br />west access for the entire North Metro area; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City supports the construction of the North Metro TH 610/TH l0 <br />Crosstown project from traditional funding sources; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City believes the construction of this vital transportation project as a toll <br />facility would place the City in a disadvantaged economic position in a time of intense competion; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City joins with other North Metro cities in their unanimous opposition to <br />the proposal to build the North Metro TH 610/TH 10 Crosstown project as a toll road. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby supports the construction of the North Metro TH <br />610fi7-t 10 Crosstown project at the earliest possible time, and that said project not be <br />constructed as a toll road. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this <br />the 13th day of March, 1991. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />
