CASE <br /> <br />AWARD <br /> <br />CONTRACT FOR MISCELLANEOUS IMPROVEMENTS <br /> IN RIVER'S BEND PARK <br /> By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />'.,J. l~tc summer of 1990, the City authorized an improvement project in River's Bend Park utilizing <br />CDBG Funding. These improvements consisted of handrails, bituminous trail and park benches. <br />At the present time, bench installation and paving need to be completed. Quotations for paving <br />were received from two of five paving contractors contacted. The low quote was from Allied <br />Blacktop Company for $3,220. In addition, these park benches are being requested to be <br />purchased and installed by the Parks Department at an approximate cost of $1,200. The total <br />expenditure request for authorization is approximately $4,420. The cost of these expenditures are <br />to be financed from the approximate $5,500 remaining in the CDBG grant. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Approve the attached resolution authorizing $3,220 for paving to Allied Blacktop Co. and $1,200 <br />for the purchase of park benches. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to adopt/not adopt Resolution #91-05- Receiving Bids and Awarding Contract for <br />Miscellaneous Improvements at River's Bend Park (Project //90-29) and Authorizing City <br />Purchase of Benches. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br /> <br />Acting City Administrator/Finance Officer <br />City Engineer <br /> <br /> <br />
