Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #91-05- RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR MISCELLANEOUS IMPROVEMENTS AT RIVER'S BEND PARK (PROJECT 890-29) AND AUTHORIZING CITY PURCHASE OF BENCHES WHEREAS, on August 28, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution 84:)0-08-288 stating their intent to make miscellaneous improvements utilizing CDBG Funds; and WHEREAS, on September 10, 1990, the City Council authorized the preparation of plans and specifications for the proposed improvements; and WHEREAS, on July 24, 1990, the City Council adopted Resolution #90-07-219 entering into an agreement with Anoka County for paving of the park access road at a cost of up to $6,500.00 and the City Council adopted Resolution g90-11-365 on November 27, 1990 awarding a contract to Selby Ornamental Iron for the installation of a gate and handrails; and WHEREAS, approximately $5,500.00 of the CDBG Funds are yet available for improvements'or will be lost to the City if not used; and WHEREAS,. these improvements are a part of the 1990 CDBG park improvements currently underway and are funded by CDBG funds; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the improvements is less than $5,000, quotes form the work were requested from five firms and have lawfully been received; and WHEREAS, it appears that Allied Blacktop Co. of Maple Grove, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, IT BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Allied Blacktop of Maple Grove, Minnesota, in the name of the City of Ramsey for miscellaneous improvement at River's Bend Park according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the Ramsey City Council and on file in the office of the City Administrator. 2) That the City Public Works Supervisor is herein authorized to purchase three (3) 8' direct bury handicapped style park benches (Model #68) as manufactured by Quality Industries, Inc., P.O. Box 278, Hillsdale, Michigan 49242; 1-517-439-1591 at a cost of $370 each plus shipping and handling for installation by the contractor. 3) That the Finance Officer receive a copy of this resolution. 4) That funding for said improvements is to be funded with 1990 CDBG Funds. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same:
