Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION g91-05- RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR JENNIFER SWENDSEN WHEREAS, on March 14, 1991 the City Council approved the leave of absence request of Accountant Jennifer Swendsen effective approximately April 4, 1991, in accordance with the terms of resolution g91-03-060 and Minnesota Parenting Leave Statutes 181.940 - 181.943; and WHEREAS, Jennifer Swendsen requested an extension of leave of absence, not as 'Parenting Leave' but as 'Leave of Absence Without Pay' for up to 90 days; and WHEREAS, City Staff and the Personnel Committee reviewed the request of Ms. Swendsen to extend the leave without pay for up to 90 days; and WHEREAS, The Personnel Committee accepted the recommendation of staff to extend the leave without pay for up to 90 days; and WHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen began leave without pay beginning May 20, i991, will be available for part-time work in the Finance Office during the 90 days, and will return to work on a full-time basis in m/d-August; and WHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen is aware that she is' not eligible to receive the City's monthly contribution for health and life insurance, but has been given the option of continuing the benefits at her own expense; and WHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen will qualify for PERA benefits providing the monthly pay received is over $425; and WHEREAS, Ms. Swendsen will earn vacation and sick time computed by converting the part-time hours equivalent to full-time service earnings. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Council of the City of Ramsey hereby approves the request for leave without pay for Jennifer Swendsen, effective May 20, 1991, for up to 90 days with all of the terms of this resolution. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: and the following voted against the same: and the following abstained: and the following were absent: whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council this the 28th day of May, 1991.
