Gust, P.E. which were
received by the City May 23, 1991. I offer the following comments:

Sheet 1 of 4. Lots 17, 18 and 19 of Block 1 are incorrectly labeled. They should be Lots
3, 2 and 1 respectively. The warp section identified between Station 11 and 13 should be
replaced with two inlets and a connecting pipe draining to the East. A warp section on this
flat a 'grade is particularly poor on a street which will be the main entrance to the
subdivision.

Sheet 1 of 4. The typical cross section should also include a note or detail specifying the
cul-de-sac on Wolverine Street. In addition, this detail should provide curbline grades for
the entire cul-de-sac. These do not appear on Sheet 4 of 4 where the cul-de-sac is
otherwise illustrated.

Sheet 2 of 4. I am concerned about the fate of the water once it discharges onto existing
Baugh Street. Approximately 450 feet of street drains down to this point. If there is an
adequate ditch section along Baugh Street which drains to a positive outlet, design as
submitted is acceptable. If not, however, a drainage easement will need to be placed on Lot
19 of Block 1 and a ponding area constructed.

o

Sheet 2 of 4. The 15 inch pipe between catch basins 2 and 4 needs to have an intermediate
access point for cleaning; 660 feet is too long on a run to be able to be cleaned. The
material between catch basins 3 and 4 and 1 and 2 is specified as 12 inch corrugated metal
pipe. Twelve inch concrete pipe is acceptable. If corrugated metal pipe is to be used it
must be a minimum of 15 inches. Likewise, I would prefer the use of reinforced concrete
pipe during the long run between catch basins 2 and 4.

Sheet 3 of 4. The type of drainage structure at Station 22 is not specified and needs to be.
At Station 13, a warp in the roadway is specified. There is sufficient grade here to
accommodate inlet structures. Inlet structures should replace the warp section at this point.

Sheet 4 of 4. The drainage structures at Station 2 + 81 and at 7 + 20 are not specified.
Both of these locations appear to have enough grade for the successful use of inlets.

Sheet 4 of 4. As mentioned above, grades need to be specified for the curb around the cul-
de-sac on Wolverine Street. The slope around the curbline must not be less than 0.5%.
