Councilmember Tossey stated if these numbers are accurate, he sees no reason to continue the <br />service. <br />Councilmember Johns stated it is nice to have this service as a "safety net" for mid -day service. <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated staff will obtain additional ridership numbers from Metro <br />Transit for Council consideration. He suggested other options for pilot programs that may <br />encourage ridership. <br />The consensus of the Council was to not terminate the agreement with Metro Transit for the <br />Route 852 bus trip extension to allow time for further review of ridership numbers. <br />2.04: Discuss 2014 Legislative Platform <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Brama reviewed the list of Legislative priorities related to the <br />City and explained that upon adoption, the platform will be forwarded to the City's County, <br />State, and Federal elected officials. In addition, it will be used internally by Staff as a <br />supplemental 2014 work plan. <br />City Administrator Ulrich explained that this review is being requested in case the City is asked <br />to testify on any of these legislative issues. <br />Assistant to the City Administrator Brama presented each of the following Legislative priorities <br />and asked for the Council's input: <br />State Bonding for Interchange at US Highway 10 /Armstrong Boulevard <br />With regard to the Highway 10 /Armstrong interchange, Councilmember Tossey explained the <br />shortfall is estimated at $7 million; however, $17 million is being used so the same bill language <br />can be presented. <br />Mayor Strommen stated she finds this item to be Priority #1 and the City's main initiative. <br />The Council unanimously agreed. <br />Road Improvement Utility <br />The Council voiced no objection to this initiative. <br />Fiscal Disparities <br />The Council supported the Anoka County program and to make no changes to the Fiscal <br />Disparities Program. <br />Right of Way Acquisition Fund (RALF) <br />Mayor Strommen noted inappropriate underlining and incorrect capitalization that should be <br />corrected. <br />City Council Work Session / January 7, 2014 <br />Page 7of13 <br />
